Having been in Solihull for some years, we at SSM appreciate that due to present lifestyles and work commitments, people regardless of sex and status are finding it harder to establish, let alone maintain a social life. Want to join a fitness/slimming club, but are too afraid to go alone. Single parent. A housewife wanting to meet other housewives for coffee, luncheon or shopping trips etc etc..........................
The list is endless, but when it comes to friends, one thing is for sure, you can never have enough of them, so that’s where our friendship section could be just what you are looking for.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the man/woman of your dreams knew where you lived, had similar interests and was just as keen to build on a relationship from scratch. We welcome people from all different backgrounds looking, just like you, for their ideal partner, and hopefully with careful planning, and a little magic for good measure, SSM can help you on your way.
All we ask, is that you are over 21yrs, and are not married.
Fed up drooling over holiday brochures only to find out the figure you had in mind went through the roof simply because you were a single traveller ? Then the travel companion section could be the solution. If you’re single, a single parent or want a holiday without your partner & fancy getting away whether it’s for a weekend at a Health Farm or something more luxurious like a Cruise, or anything in between, then our aim is to find and put you in touch with someone willing to room/cabin share with similar interests, making that original figure you had in mind a little bit more achievable, and a holiday loads more fun.
NB: Members should note, we are not travel agents and therefore do not get involved with any part of your holiday arrangements/booking (Unless we are booking for a group event).
So now you understand what we offer, your next question probably is : How do I join, and how safe is it to meet people in this manner ?
Firstly, you will need to contact us so we can arrange to interview you at a time convenient to you eg: at our office or your place of work. If you do choose the latter rest assured we are very discreet/confidential and never divulge the nature of our business. However, we strongly recommend you only peruse the latter as a last resort and have access to a private office. If none of the above are convenient we are open to suggestions, so feel free to put them to us, we will try to accommodate your needs as best we can.
Once we have met, details will be taken via a questionnaire about yourself and your needs, a contract signed and your details transferred to both computer and manual matching files so the selection process can begin. Rest assured we do not give out any details about you without your consent. Finally, we hope that by us interviewing new members that this will put your mind at ease, though it does go without saying, you should always take the same amount of care when meeting someone for the first time, just as you would if you had met them yourself.
Throughout the year we arrange (subject to numbers of interest) social events ranging from dinner at local restaurants, dances, racing, bowling, concerts (classical & pop) and of course the Christmas Meal, the list is only limited by our members' suggestions.
